Infant

8 weeks – 18 months

Our infant program is set up in a house with a beautiful and peaceful home-like Nido environment.  Nido is an Italian word meaning, “nest.” Dr. Montessori used this word to describe the warm, secure environment of the Infant House. The infants are given the space to move freely or rest calmly.  Our outdoor environment provides the babies with green grass, a lush garden with fruit trees and flowers where they can spend time enjoying nature.

We provide a safe, independent, and respect-based education that is echoed through Montessori philosophy.  These are the qualities and practices that differentiate us from a day care program.

The first 3 years of life are the most fundamental in the development of human beings and their potential.  The infant’s physical development is phenomenal and inspires our care and attention.  It is much a unique opportunity to engage with an infant as they exercise their independence by exploring a specially prepared environment.  The furniture and materials in the classroom are carefully chosen and designed to aid in the development of movement, coordination, language, and cognitive development.

A child who is placed in a happy, safe, and challenging environment and given the opportunity to independently explore it, develops the confidence to express his/her independent choice with intrinsic pleasure.

The combination of family values with a respect-based education application becomes the intricate element in sculpting the foundation for a continuous love of learning!

Maria Montessori said, “Education begins at birth.” As your child normalizes in the infant environment, we will commit to a consistent daily routine, sensitive to the needs of your child.  We believe that this consistency aids in instilling authentic trust, predictability, and cooperation.  When a child feels respected, cared for and nurtured, they feel safe in developing trust and confidence to independently explore and learn.
